Open Enrollment (K – 12th)

Open enrollment is the process for parents/guardians residing in another Iowa district who want to enroll in the Boone Community School District. An application to is to be filed with the resident district by March 1 to be considered for the following year. Those enrolling in kindergarten have until September 1 to file an application for open enrollment.

Students who are eligible to enroll in their district of residence, kindergarten through high school, are eligible for open enrollment. Students who move out of the BCSD and have completed grade 10 may continue to attend school in this district without applying for open enrollment.

Transportation to and from a point on a regular school bus route of the receiving district is the responsibility of the parent/guardian, unless economic eligibility requirements are met and the receiving district is next to the resident district.
